Influencer Matchmaking

It's Not You it's ME

Just like dating, some people just don't fit and you really shouldn't force it, similarly not every influencer is right for your business.

Some Matches Just Aren’t Meant to Be

Influencers

You would be surprised at the amount of brands that keep forcing partnerships that look good on paper but flop in real life.
Why? Because they’re chasing popularity, not compatibility.

And when it's not right.

  • The content looks like an awkward blind date.

  • The influencer’s audience couldn’t care less.

  • The brand wonders why the money disappeared without results.

This is what happens when businesses treat influencer marketing like a one-night stand instead of a collaborative relationship.

The problem isn’t influencers. It’s lazy matchmaking, and it's the agency not pushing back to say
“That's bad fit”
Yes their followers are great, but some other things might be off.

Just like that gut feeling you get with people, or as people say 'the iyk'.

That doesn’t mean the influencer isn’t talented it means their values, voice, and audience don’t line up with yours. If their followers aren’t your future customers, the partnership is doomed before it starts.

It’s better to walk away from the wrong influencer than to waste time trying to make it work. Compatibility matters more than clout.
We had a similar experience an influencer who had a following of 817,000 combined following across TikTok and Instagram agreed to a collaboration with one of our clients.

The content flopped, the concept aligned with the content usually created by the creator, and the numbers should have been amazing. But the views flopped after month one, the campaign was halted.
It was a misalignment and a lesson learnt.

When it's right though...

  • The content doesn’t feel like an ad, it feels like a genuine recommendation.

  • The audience leans in instead of scrolling past.

  • You stop gambling your budget and start building trust.

So when you're deciding to work with a content creator and building out your campaign ask yourself are we actually a good match, or are we just swiping right because it looks good in the moment?

Some matches aren’t meant to be and that’s exactly why your business needs a smarter way to choose.
